Typically, the amount of money you can earn is directly proportional to how much
experience or accreditation you have.
Here's an example of wages for nannies working in the South Atlantic area::
WITH NO EXPERIENCE (Kensington cannot place you)
If you have no experience as a nanny and no college training, you can expect to earn
approx. $6.15-$10 per hour.
WITH SOME EXPERIENCE
If you have 1-3 years of chidcare experience OR childcare experience PLUS an AA or AS
(in child related field), you can expect to earn approx. $10-$15 per hour.
WITH A LOT OF EXPERIENCE
If you have 3 or more years of experience as a nanny OR a BA or BS in a child related field
you can expect to earn approx. $10-$20 per hour.
WHY USE AN AGENCY?
Not only is using an agency a safer alternative, but you could earn more money by going through an agency. The reason for this is because the agency will only select choice individuals to refer and place. Most agencies will allow you to register with them as a nanny if you meet their hiring criteria
